Comparing Three Popular Moving Options

Packing up your things and moving to a new home can be one of the more stressful events in your life. You owe it to yourself and your family to relieve as much of that stress as you possibly can. And the first step in the process is deciding on the best way to move, whether driving a rental truck, using portable moving containers, or hiring full-service home movers. Here a few things to keep in mind with each of these options.

The Rental Truck. For those intrepid do-it-yourselfers, who don’t mind a little elbow grease and a good clean sweat if it means saving some money, then the rental truck is the way to go. You remain in control of your possessions throughout the entire move, and you know exactly where everything is when you arrive at your new destination. Besides having eight friends with pickups, rental trucks are by far the most economical moving option.

Portable Moving Containers. Portable container moving services are becoming a quite popular option for those who want the same amount of control over their packing, but who don’t want the hassle of having to drive the truck themselves. Units are delivered to your house, where you load them on your own schedule. Once you’re done, you call the company, and they pick up the unit and deliver it either to your new home or to a storage facility until you’re ready for it.

Full-Service Home Movers. And of course, for anyone crunched for time or simply tired of hauling their own boxes, there are full-service home movers. Professional movers will naturally cost a little more than the other two options, but the services they provide are well worth the money. Some companies can even pack, load, unload, and unpack for you — you never have to lift a finger. And, if you want to save a bit of money, often times you can arrange to pack, load, and unload your own boxes, while the pros handle the furniture, the appliances, and the driving.

Of course this all has to do with Moving Day itself. For the days, weeks, and even months leading up to moving day, you’ll want to do some meticulous planning. For every option listed above, you can usually find helpful moving checklists and moving tips on their websites or in their offices. And happy moving! Learn more: www.absolutemovingcompany.com
